Min Gweon is a textile artist working with multidisciplines. Her primary interest in art always has been in the clash and blend of human life and its relation to textiles, its material context, and social context. She works with various techniques- tufting, pattern printing, knitting, dyeing, drawing, and resin casting.
Having a strong background of studying sculpture made her to be a keen material researcher, and studying textile design expanded her knowledge of surface & texture. She likes to consider herself as a material and surface researcher.
Min Gweon graduated from Royal Academy of Arts, Tha Hague, NL (2019) and Seoul National University, South Korea (BFA 2008, MFA 2013). She currently resides and works in The Hague, NL.
